Pet of the Week – “Ophelia”

“Meet Ophelia. Ophelia had originally come into Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society with her sister Chanel, who is also still available for adoption. Ophelia came into the shelter very underweight, heartworm positive, and with apparent skin issues. She lived a life where love was not known, where she was welcomed with open arms by the staff at the shelter who cared for her and showed her a second chance.

Now at a healthy weight, spayed, and heartworm negative, she is searching for her forever home. Ophelia is an older gal, but don’t let that stop you! This gorgeous girl with her newfound happiness has an affectionate soul for her and thrives on humane companionship. She may be shy at first, however, if you sit with her and offer a good treat, and show her what true love is, then we are sure she will create a bond with you like no other. Ophelia does also have a playful side, even if taking a walk outside on a beautiful day is one of her favorite activities.

We know adopting a senior pet can be scary, but what is better than a laid-back companion at your side offering you affection and smiles? That is Ophelia! If interested, we would love for you to come in and visit.”
