Governor Glenn Youngkin unveils his plans to tackle crime entitled “Operation Bold Blue Line”. It includes a budget proposal to fix wage compression issues for state law enforcement. Youngkin also wants more funding to places that have community policing and violence reduction tactics already in place. The plan calls on the General Assembly to reinstate the presumption against bail for repeat violent offenders. Funding will also go to create a Victim/Witness Assistance Program to help police and prosecutors put violent criminals behind bars.
