Youngkin Calls For NMS Legislation

Governor Glenn Youngkin announced he is requesting the General Assembly enact legislation requiring schools to inform students and their parents about National Merit Scholarships and other awards. An investigation by Attorney General Jasom Miyares found more than 15 schools withheld National Merit awards from students, thereby jeopardizing their scholarship opportunities. Youngkin says they will not allow students and their parents to be left uninformed of their hard-earned recognition.
