Story Time for young children will be held Saturday August 16 at the Northumberland Public Library’s Ye Olde Book Shoppe in Heathsville, the place to find gently used books at a very reasonable price. The activity is intended for children up to school grade 5.
Volunteer Kimberly Mann will read to children from 11 a.m. to noon, the day of the monthly Heathsville Farmers Market. The theme will be an Antique Car Round-Up. Future Story Hours will coincide with the dates and themes of the Farmers Market on September 20 and October 18.
Located at 7072 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, VA 22473, the Book Shoppe is open Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The facility is staffed by volunteers, and all sales proceeds benefit the Northumberland Public Library.
Prices range from 50 cents for paperbacks and children’s books to $3 for new hardcover books and $2 for older ones. Antique books, coffee table books and sets of more than one volume typically cost $5.
