Westmoreland Man Facing Murder Charge

A Westmoreland man has been arrested, following a manhunt that lasted for six days, in connection with a murder that took place in Stafford County. A 33-year-old King George man whose name has not been released, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital where he later died. 29 year old Darren Newman was identified as the suspect, and police put out a warning that he was armed and dangerous. Newman had previous run-ins with the law, including felony convictions for eluding and evading police. He was eventually found in Richmond where he was taken into custody. Newman now faces charges including second degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. At last report, he was being held without bond.
