Kilmarnock Town Council met earlier this week, and councilmembers agreed to move forward with a wastewater treatment project… that after learning that the town has received $7 million through the Clean Water Revolving Loan Fund at an interest rate of just 0.5%. The deal may even qualify for loan forgiveness. In other business, a motion was made to approve an emergency contract for repairs that need to be made at the Fox Hill pump station. The Town Manager was authorized to execute a contract with Southwood Building Systems Inc. for repairs in an amount not to exceed $100,000. That came after is was revealed that 5 companies were contacted for the project and Southwood was the only one to respond. In addition, Kilmarnock already has a working relationship with Southwood Building Systems. It was the last meeting of the year. The next meeting of Kilmarnock Town Council will be at 7pm on January 22nd at the Town Hall.
