Warsaw Town officials explore security options for Route 360 water tower

After a man almost jumped off the Route 360 water tower in Warsaw, town officials are looking for better security options. At a recent council meeting, Police Chief and Acting Town Manager Chris Spare said he asked Public Works Superintendent David Woolard to look into better security around the ladder well itself, possibly a fence, to restrict access to the ladder that goes up the side of the water tower. Spare also said there could be grant money available through the Virginia Municipal League for security purposes. So far two estimates for the changes have been received, both about $14,000 for the fence.
