VMRC Sued For Increasing Menhaden Catch Limit

The Virginia Marine Resources Commission is being sued by a Chesapeake Bay-focused legal team on claims the agency did not properly manage the menhaden population in state waters by increasing the fishery catch limit. According to the Virginia Mercury the suit claims the commission conducted no analysis on how Virginia will be impacted by the increased limits. A spokesperson for Attorney General Jason Miyares said there’s no comment on the litigation.
