Virginia Wildfire Season Is Under Way

Virginia’s fall wildfire season began last Saturday and the Department of Forestry says burning debris is the leading cause of wildfires. The department says to avoid burning on dry, windy days, leep a charged water hose nearby and have a phone ready to call 911 if a fire escapes your control. Also check with local fire officials for regional restrictions or bans. Be sure the fire is completely extinguished vefore leaving the area.
