Virginia Lottery Donates Record Profits To Schools

The Virginia Lottery announced it’s contributing nearly $780 million to the Commonwealth’s K-12 schools which officials say is a record amount of profits. The Lottery is constitutionally required to give the money from ticket sales to schools. It traditionally makes up roughly 10% of Virginia’s overall K-12 education budget and support vital programs in every school district. The money came from total Lottery sales of more than $3.75 billion.
