Virginia lawmakers cut $192 million from the budget

Gov. Terry McAu­li­ffe and Vir­ginia law­mak­ers agreed to cut $192 mil­lion to state agen­cies. The move was nec­es­sary because of a pro­jected bud­get gap. The elected offi­cials also said Mon­day they they’ll cut $90 mil­lion from higher edu­ca­tion as part of a plan to pre­serve Virginia’s AAA bond rating.
