VDEM Observes Hurricane Preparedness Week

This is Hurricane Preparedness Week and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management reminds residents and visitors to get ready for the season that starts at the end of the month. Officials say to make a response plan for when a hurricane hits, prepare an emergency kit with supplies for at least 72 hours, prepare your home for surviving a storm and know where to go if you need to evacuate.
