VADOC Launches Alert System For Crime Victims

Virginia has a new notification to alert victims of crime to the change in the status of inmates serving sentences of 12 months or more. The system operated by the Department of Corrections’ Victim Services Unit allows users to get updates in English and Spanish for as long as the specific perpetrator is incarcerated within the corrections system. The updates can be delivered multiple ways including email, text or snail mail.
