Tropical Storm Arthur Approaching

Tropical Storm Arthur continues to churn off the coast of Florida, slowly moving northward as the holiday weekend slowly moves into focus as well.
Just south of our area, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, some business owners are still holding out hope for an influx of visitors this holiday weekend despite the storm.

As of this morning, forecasters are calling for Arthur to pass by Cape Hatteras sometime Friday morning, at which time it could possibly be a category 1 hurricane with winds exceeding 75 miles an hour.

Businesses and vacationers are monitoring the weather conditions closely.

A bit closer to home, in Virginia Beach, there has been talk about moving the Fourth of July fireworks display to Saturday, but the official decision isn’t expected until later today. Locally, no changes in schedules have been announced yet, but if anything does change, we’ll have it for you on the radio and online at MiddleNeckNews.com.
