The Tappahannock Artists’ Guild is pleased to announce that Ellen Worthy Stokes and David Henderson have volunteered to present “Garden as Art, II” on September 26, 2014. This year’s presentation will feature gardens in a different season (Fall vs. Spring), introducing vastly different colors and textures, and an opportunity to explore the art principles of design, with a special focus on composition.
“Garden as Art, II” will once again feature the grounds of Little Egypt, David Henderson’s home in Tappahannock. There will be four sessions on Friday September 26, 2014. The morning session will run from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon. The afternoon session will be from 1 PM to 3 PM. A Lunch session will be available for purchase at the time you reserve your place in one of the sessions. In addition to the different focus of the presentations, this year’s “Garden as Art, II” has expanded to make the entire day an unforgettable experience. Local vendors will be on-site during the day with a wide array of wares related to plants, gardens, and art. Come see local members of the Tappahannock Artists’ Guild painting “en plein air”.
Morning Session: 10AM-12, $35 per person. Gardening & art presentation. Sessions are limited to 35 people per session.
Lunch: 12-1PM, $15 per person. Enhancing your dining experience with items from your garden presentation.
Afternoon Session: 1-3PM, $35 per person. Gardening & art presentation.
Evening Soiree: 5:30-8PM, $25 per person, or $40 per couple; featuring live music, beer, wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres.
An exhibit of Ellen Worthy’s art entitled “A Regional Potpourri and A Glittering Come Here” will coincide with the garden event at the Tappahannock Art Guild located at 200 Prince St. from Sept. 12th through Oct. 4th. An opening is planned for 6 PM to 8 PM September 12th; light fare served. This exhibit and works by the Tappahannock Art Guild will be open to the public.
