State Senate Shoots Down Youngkin’s Gas Tax Suspension

On Wednesday the state Senate rejected Governor Glenn Youngkin’s proposal to suspend the state’s gas tax for 3 months. The bill died in the Finance and Appropriations Committee. Lawmakers also reviewed the more than 25 bills vetoed by Youngkin along with 100 bill amendments. The state budget was not a part of Wednesday session as the two chambers are still far apart in their spending plans.
