State jobless rates drops in February

Virginia unemployment rate in February was 3.2%, while total non-farm payroll employment increased by 21,300 jobs. That unemployment rate is down a 10th of a point from January, and it’s 1.4 percentage points lower than a year ago in February. More than 14,100 people joined the workforce while the number of unemployed Virginians dropped by over 3300. The commonwealth’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate continues to be below the national rate, which in February was 3.8.
