The fourth annual Jacob’s Ladder Oyster Tasting will be from 3 to 5 p.m. September 28 at Merrior, easy to find at 784 Locklies Creek Road, Topping. The tasting is the perfect opportunity to learn about native oysters.
The sixty dollar entry fee includes oysters, beer, wine, chowder, condiments and nonalcoholic beverages. If you’d like tickets call 758‑0712 by September 24. Jacob’s Ladder is a program for at-risk, gifted children in Virginia and North Carolina, in grades 4–8. The goal is to foster the intellectual, social, emotional and physical development of these children. Many students from the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck are in the program..
