Senate Bill Would Limit Solitary Confinement
A state Senate committee is recommending a bill to limit solitary confinement. The Rehabilitation and Social Services committee voted in favor of the measure which would allow prisons to hold an incarcerated person in isolated confinement when there is a medical need or to prevent an imminent threat for up to 15 days within 60 days. It now goes to the Senate Judiciary Committee and if approved there will go to the full Senate for a vote.
