Rocket Crash

For four consecutive days, the NASA Wallops Flight Facility postponed the liftoff of a rocket due to the presence of boats in its potential crash zone in the Atlantic Ocean.

This was fortunate, as the rocket, which was launched early Wednesday morning, crashed into the ocean 19 seconds after lift-off.

No damage or injuries were reported. Fortuantely, the hazard area had been fully cleared of all boat traffic before the launch.

A NASA team is investigating the cause of the crash, and the agency says it will update information as more becomes available.
