Richmond County Taxpayers Warned About Reassessment Changes

Richmond County officials are alerting property owners to be prepared for a sizeable change in their reassessments which are being finalized. News on the Neck reports Commissioner of the Revenue Jennifer Delano told the Board of Supervisors that based on 2021 data, the county’s assessments are only at 73% of the market value but by law, the county has to tax at 100%. County administrator Morgan Quicke says when the reassessment takes effect January 1, 2024 tax bills will use the most recent data.
