Registration for Race, Walk at RWC Still Open

It is not too late to register for Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury’s 5K “Run for Your Life,” race or the more leisurely “Trick or Trot” Monster Mile walk. Registrations for the October 11 race and walk will be open until the day of the event.

The race and fun walk will take place on the RWC campus at 132 Lancaster Drive in Irvington. Because parking is limited, free shuttle service will be available from the White Stone Methodist Church parking lot at 118 Methodist Church Road in White Stone.

RWC’s coordinator of resident program development Amy Lewis explains that the run/walk is part of RWC’s Mind and Muscle series which we created to call attention to the need for total wellness.

The 5K course winds through the RWC’s beautiful 165-acre wooded campus. The one-mile course is entirely on paved paths, and is wheelchair accessible. “Everyone who participates is encouraged to don costumes appropriate to the Halloween season,” Lewis says.

Details about costs and a registration form are available on the RWC web site: Directions to RWC can be found by going to the RWC Home Page, and clicking on the “Location” button at the top of the page.
