The Virginia Lottery reports the record-breaking run of Powerball raised more than $42 million for K-12 education. Because of this the Lottery has contributed over $779 million this year, making up for 10% of the total education budget. 303,00 of the Powerball tickets sold in Virginia were winners, including three tickets that won $50,000 and one that won $100,000.
