The prosecutor in the John Hooper manslaughter case files a response on a request to reduce Hooper’s jail sentence. He was found guilty in the death of Graham McCormick from a 2017 boating crash in Lancaster County. According to the Rappahannock Record the prosecutor refuted Hooper’s claim that his freedoms were significantly restricted for 3-1/3 years while awaiting trial saying Hooper’s bail was never opposed. Hooper was sentenced to 30 years in jail with 24 years suspended.
