It’s been hot lately! But we will be getting a little bit of a break from the heat this weekend, with temperatures dropping a bit later today and Saturday.
A series of thunderstorms blew through much of the region Thursday afternoon.
Last night, about 1,000 customers on the Peninsula and surrounding areas were without power following Thursday evening storms, according to Dominion Virginia Power. That was down from more than 5,000 who were without power earlier in the evening.
About 730 of those customers were in Isle of Wight, and another 160 were in Gloucester. Another 100 or so were without power in Newport News and Hampton.
