Northumberland Supervisors Facing Difficult Decisions

Northumberland County supervisors are facing tough budget decisions as they grapple with funding requests from various community organizations for the upcoming fiscal year. These requests include additional funding for the Northumberland Public Library, the Greater Reedville Association, Rappahannock Community College, the Northern Neck-Middlesex Free Health Clinic, and the Boys & Girls Club. Alongside these requests, the county is also dealing with increased costs for property reassessment, debt service, and employee benefits. With talks of a potential tax increase looming, the board unanimously approved to advertise the proposed budget for a public hearing on June 6th.
