The Northumberland school board and board of supervisors met recently, and they discussed planning for the fiscal year 2024-25 school budget. At the meeting which was held one week ago today, Holly Wargo, the Superintendent, presented primary themes and goals that she said both she and the school board plan to focus on when creating the budget. Wargo told board members that the main goal they are aiming at is to facilitate educational excellence so students not only meet but exceed state baselines and expectations. Student health and wellness will also be important factors. While no figures were released yet concerning the proposed new budget, the current budget totals about $23.3 Million. That marked an increase of about $2.4 Million from the 2022-23 budget.
