Northumberland County Planning Commission Finalizes Solar Ordinance Revisions

The Northumberland County Planning Commission finalizes chagnes to the utility scale solar facility ordinance. The Rappahannock Record reports the next step is to have county attorney Eric Gregory review the changes before the commission holds a public hearing. Much of the discussion centered around a minimum 25-foot vegetative buffer, which could be either existing vegetation or new material. The commission also recommended creating a utility scale solar conditional use permit fee of $1,500 to recoup costs associated with reviewing permits.
