Northumberland County officials say says it is with great sadness they announced the loss of district 5 board member Ronald L Jett. They said Mr. Ronnie Jett had been a Board of Supervisors member since 1996. He was a dedicated family man and public servan,t who enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and dog Mia.
His almost 28 years of dedicated service as a board member exemplified his passion for the citizens as well as county staff. Jett served in multiple positions on the board including vice chair for six years, and as chairman for 18 years. He also served as emergency services director for 18 years, and as liaison for the board to the Northern Neck Regional Jail.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Internment will follow the service at Roseland Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Monday, August 14, at the funeral home.
