Northumberland Budget Finalized

Northumberland County supervisors have finalized a robust $50.2 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year, marking a significant step forward despite ongoing adjustments. The approved budget includes a $0.05 increase in the real estate tax rate, now set at $0.66 per $100 of assessed value, with all other taxes remaining unchanged. Supervisors also approved tax relief measures for personal property, aimed at easing the burden on vehicle owners. The school budget of $21.5 million was also approved, albeit with adjustments following budget cuts and funding increases for salaries and healthcare. Work continues to finalize budget details ahead of the fiscal year.
