Norris Bridge To Be Replaced

The now 67-year-old Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge is set for a nearly $400-million replacement. The Virginia Department of Transportation has begun preliminary work, with construction slated to start in 2036. The new bridge will feature wider lanes, taller railings, and no weight limit. Meanwhile, maintenance of the current bridge continues. A public hearing is being planned for the end of this year or early in 2025. We will keep you updated on it as we learn more about it.
