The Northumberland County Board of Supervisors schedules a public hearing on the fiscal year 2024 budget at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1. According to the Rappahannock Record the $51.5 million budget draft released earlier this month included a 7 cent real estate tax rate increase from $0.61 to $0.68. The budget proposal is now at now $53.4 million and includes a 14 cent tax increase.
