No Urbanna Swimming Pool This Year

Town of Urbanna residents won’t have a community swimming pool to use this summer. The Southsude Sentinel reports the Urbanna Pool Committee recommended the town council delay construction after a bid received last week was over three times the $460,000 pool construction cost. Pool Committee Chairman Barbara Hartley says delaying construction will allow for pricing to come down and offer more time to raise funds to cover the shortfall in planned funding sources.
