New Runway Coming To Hummel Field

A new longer runway is coming to Hummel Field in Topping and airport officials say it won’t cost Middlesex County taxpayers any money. According to the Southside Sentinel the Delaware Corporation in Topping is working with Middlesex County and the Virginia Department of Aviation to improve the runway. Delaware Corporation’s Oscar Barber says his company will cover the local cost share of the project. The current runway will be abandoned.
