Neck Connect Announced

Bay Transit, a service of Bay Aging, has announced a new type of public transportation service in the Northern Neck — fixed route.

Director Ken Pollock told reporters that providing public transportation in a rural area is very challenging and now they are about to embark on the maiden voyage into delivering fixed route service in the Northern Neck.

NECK CONNECT, the fixed route service, will have multiple stops in Montross, Warsaw Village, Callao and Lottsburg. NECK CONNECT will begin service on July 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. NECK CONNECT is designed to provide a continuous transportation loop among designated stops. NECKCONNECT rides will be free through August 31st. Beginning September 1st, the NECK CONNECT fare will be only 50 cents per ride or residents can receive a free all-day pass when they pay their $2.00 fare on the rural route that will connect to NECK CONNECT.

Full details and schedule information for NECK CONNECT is available at the Bay Transit office in Warsaw, local businesses and on the Bay Transit website. The Bay Transit office is located at 111 Commerce Parkway in the Warsaw Industrial Park; phone number is 804.250.2019; www.baytransit.org.
