NC Planning Commission Holding Public Hearing On Solar Ordinance Changes

The Northumberland County Planning Commission is holkding a public hearing on October 20 on proposed changes to the county’s solar power facility ordinance. According to the Rappahannock Record the changes include a revenue-sharing provision of $1,400 per megawatt that includes a rate increase of 10% every five years. Other proposed changes involve fencing requirements and a landscape plan with a 25-foot vegetative buffer either naturally occurring or planted at a minimum of four feet high.
