Montross Gets Park Grant

The Montross Town Council wins a $25,000 Virginia Outdoor Foundation Grant to turn land near the town library into a public park. According to Westmoreland News Town Manager Patricia Lewis announced the results at last month’s Town Council meeting. The park will be build on land obtained from a 20-year lease from the county for a dollar per year. Montross is also applying for a $150,000 federal grant to build a structure for activities including farmer’s markets.
