Miyares Calls on FCC to Require Anti-Robocall Protections

Attorney General Jason Miyares joins his colleagues from across the country calling on the Federal Communications Commission to require more telecommunications providers implement more rigorous measures for prevent illegal and fraudulent robocalls. These calls often originate from overseas scam actors who spoof U.S.-based phone numbers. The AGs expressed support for implementation of a caller ID authentication technology that helps prevent spoofed calls, to all “intermediate” phone providers in the United States. Right now, only providers that originate call traffic are required to implement it.
