Middlesex County BOS Discusses SO Body Cameras

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors discussed body cameras for Sheriff’s deputies at a recent meeting. According to the Southside Sentinel the discussion started during the public comment period where an individual noted the county was one of a few locations in Virginia where cameras aren’t used. Sheriff David Bushey says the department is not eligible for state grant funds to purchase cameras until a new sheriff’s office building is completed. The board recommended bundling the purchase with the renovations.
