Mathews Man Facing Felony Charges After Road Rage Arrest

A road rage incident that took place last month is under investigation by the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office. They say a suspect discharged his firearm on George Washington Memorial Highway. That suspect however, 27 year old Dylan Hicks of Mathews County, now claims that it was in self-defense. The 50 year old victim however, says Hicks was driving recklessly, following the victim’s vehicle closely while flashing his lights. Investigators say a 5-month-old baby was inside Hick’s vehicle during the incident. Nobody was hurt, but the victim’s vehicle was damaged from gunfire. Hicks was arrested two days after the incident and locked up, but he later bonded out of jail. Deputies now say Child Protective Services is involved.
