Mathews County Schools Upgrade Security

Mathews County Public Schools officials take several steps to enhance security for this school year. Division Superintendent Nancy Welch tells News 10 that after the Uvalde school shootings they assembled a crisis team and changed procedures about door locks and addressed other expectations. Welch says they implemented a program called Lightspeed Alert which monitors students’ emails and internet searches. The division also applied for grants to upgrade all camera systems.
