Mathews Broadband Tower Project Going Back Out For Bids

Mathews County received two bids for constructing county-owned telecommunications towers at 2 locations. According to the Gazette-Journal both bids came in higher than the $670,000 allocated to pay for construction of the two towers. The county’s broadband consultant says that is because the original request for proposals incorporated more land to accommodate the towers and that has since been determined to be more than necessary. A new request for proposals will be submitted after revised site plans are completed.
