Mathews Broadband Customers May Qualify For Subsidies

Broadband internet customers in Mathews County may soon be able to receive service cost subsidies for low-income households. The Gazette-Journal reports Mathews Broadband Advisory Board chair Judy Rowe told the board of supoervisors the Federal Communications Commission’s Affordable Connectivity Program will soon be available. The program provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward broadband service for eligible households. Breezeline and Open Broadband are both participants in the program.
