March Unemployment Drops To 3%

Virginia’s unemployment rate in March dropped two-tenths of a point to 3%. Total nonfarm payroll jobs increased by 2,700. The March rate is 1.5% lower than last year. Close to 20,000 more Virginians joined the labor force and the number of unemployed residents decreased by nearly 5,000. Virginia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate continues to be below the national rate which was 3.6%
