Man Pleads Guilty To Sex Related Charges In Middlesex Court

A Locust Hill man has pleaded guilty in Middlesex County Circuit Court to two charges: contributing to the delinquency of a minor and sexual battery. According to Middlesex Commonwealth’s Attorney Michael Hurd, 54 year old Benjamin Bagby’s admission of guilt came during a court hearing on February 12. When asked by retired Judge Ray Grubbs if he was indeed guilty, Bagby responded with a resounding “Yes.” The offenses occurred between June 3, 2022, and August 29, 2022. The victim, a 14-year-old, testified to unwanted touching by Bagby in intimate areas. Her brother corroborated the incidents. Forensically recovered text messages from the victim’s phone provided damning evidence. Bagby expressed attraction to the minor and revealed sexual intentions. He even sent explicit photos to the victim. The relationship came to light when the victim’s mother discovered incriminating messages on her daughter’s phone. Bagby was sentenced to the maximum of 12 months behind bars for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. For sexual battery, Bagby was sentenced to 12 months, all suspended for 12 months or until he completes required programs, whichever is later. Bagby is to have no contact with the victim or her immediate family, and is to pay court costs.
