Local Man Named As Murder Suspect

A Northern Neck man is a suspect in an old murder case. The FBI has named Alan Wade Wilmer Sr. as a suspect in another Colonial Parkway murder case, decades after his death. Wilmer, a deceased waterman from Lancaster County, was previously linked to the 1987 slayings of David Knobling and Robin Edwards. Now, investigators believe Wilmer may have been involved in the 1988 disappearance of Christopher Newport University students Keith Call and Sandra Hailey. Despite passing a polygraph in 1988, recent advancements in DNA technology have renewed suspicion. The FBI’s investigation is active and ongoing, and the agency urges anyone with information to contact them.
