Landman Bond Denied

Bobby Ray “Trey” Landman III has been denied bond and will remain in custody at Northern Neck Regional Jail pending trial on charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in a felony. Landman is accused in the shooting death of 41 year old Seth Clements Dutton, originally from Gloucester County. Defense attorney Anna Lindemann argued for bond, citing self-defense claims related to an altercation where Landman allegedly fired shots in fear. However, Northumberland Commonwealth’s Attorney Jane Wrightson recommended denial based on firearm use and evidence weight. Judge R. Michael McKenney denied bond, citing concerns over community safety and Landman’s actions leading to the death. A preliminary hearing is set for June 3 in Northumberland County General District Court.
