Lancaster School Budget Shows Increase

The Lancaster County Board of Supervisors has agreed to a $20.4 million school budget, marking a 12.8% increase over the current budget. This budget will fund a 7% raise for all staff, with teachers receiving a 5.5% raise plus a 1.5% step, bringing the starting teacher salary to $50,832. The budget also includes provisions for new positions including a STEAM teacher, that’s science, technology, engineering, arts and math, along with three behavioral specialists, and part-time roles for marketing and athletics. The school board will vote on the proposed budget on Monday.
