Lancaster County Sheriff's Report – For the week ending Sept 2nd

Aug. 25 (Report begins @ 2:00 p.m.) Staff received a curse and abusive language complaint from a Gaskins Road resident; responded to an E911 disconnect call on Beach Cove Drive (telephone line problem); received a elder abuse report (no further information released in order to protect the victim and due to the nature of the investigation).

Aug. 26 Brandon J. Curry, 22 of Hacks Neck Road, was arrested for contempt of court on July 22; Gary T. Rapier, 54 of Dawson Road, was arrested for domestic assault and battery on Aug. 16. Staff responded to a stalking complaint on Greentown Road (mental health emergency involved); received a complaint from a Fleets Bay Road resident of multiple calls in attempts to obtain financial/personal identifying information in order to commit fraud; received a larceny report from Crawfords Corner Road (Stihl pole saw; $600 loss); responded to the area of Windmill Point Road on a hazardous driver complaint; received a motorist’s complaint of a reckless driver in the area of Rappahannock Drive/Shady Lane (no officer in position to attempt to intercept); received a walk-in complaint of fraud (civil incident); received a report of burglary to a foreclosed residence (100 ft. copper tubing, 100 ft. electric wire, kitchen faucet set, 20 ft. copper gas line; $790 loss); responded to an E911 disconnect call in the area of Rappahannock Drive (no source of the call could be determined); received an internet fraud complaint from an Old Point Road resident; received a complaint of a suspicious/unknown person attempting entry to a Fitchett Drive residence (third party advised the subject was attempting to return keys for the residence); investigated an unattended and open vehicle at a Lively area business during routine late night business checks (no criminal incident involved).

Aug. 27 Derrick L. Wilson, 33 of Levelfield Lane, was arrested for contempt of court on Aug. 15. Staff responded to a domestic disturbance on Woods Drive; responded to an unattended vehicle complaint on Monaskon Road; checked on the well-being of a Keep Safe program participant after prearranged telephone contact could not be made (no emergency services needed); responded to an abandoned vehicle complaint in the area of Lancaster High School; responded to a noise violation complaint on Rocky Neck Road; received a walk-in report of larceny (Taurus .45 cal pistol; $400 loss); responded to a missing person incident in the Merry Point area (subject found to be safe with family member); received a burglary report from a Gemini Road resident (assorted change; $50 loss); responded to a trespass complaint on Greentown Road; received a walk-in complaint of an assault (protective order issued by the magistrate); responded to a domestic disturbance on Woods Drive.

Aug. 28 Ricky A. Gibson, Jr., 19 of Weems Road, was arrested for breaking and entering, grand larceny (both felonies), and misdemeanor destruction of property, all on July 20. Staff received a commercial burglary report from the 100 block of Windmill Point Road (door lock; $30 loss); responded to an E911 disconnect call on Mockingbird Lane (telephone line problem); responded with WSPD to a domestic disturbance on Windmill Point Road; received a custody/visitation complaint from an Ottoman Ferry Road resident; received a complaint from a Bald Eagle Drive resident of an attempt to defraud by means of “The Grandparent Scam” (a grandchild is in jail/hospital, etc., and needs money); notified VDOT of a large animal carcass that was interfering with traffic near Mary Ball & Fleets Bay Roads; received a walk-in complaint of an assault and battery. Aug. 29 Purcell O. Owens, 45 of Dillin Drive, was arrested for assault and battery on August 28. Staff received a walk-in complaint of the forgery/fraudulent sale of a vehicle ($600 loss); received a walk-in complaint for a protective order (magistrate did not find probable cause for a protective order); notified VDOT

of a downed tree partially blocking Devils Bottom Road (patrol officer arrived, reported tree had been removed and cancelled VDOT response); responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in the 11,600 block of Courthouse Road (disabled vehicle; driver waiting for assistance); responded to a noise violation complaint in the area of Chesapeake Drive; responded to a possible prowler complaint in the 900 block of Ocran Road.

Aug. 30 Solomon K. Ball, 28 of Belmont Drive, was arrested for domestic assault and battery; Aaron J.L. Ashburn, 35 of Laurel Point Road, was arrested for domestic assault and battery. Staff received a stolen vehicle report (2003 GMC Yukon; $7,000 loss & recovery); responded to a single vehicle traffic crash near Merry Point and Hoecake Roads (2003 GMC Yukon reported as stolen); responded with EMS to Wilson Lane; responded with EMS to Churchill Circle; responded to a disturbance call on Campbell Road; responded to a complaint of a pedestrian interfering with traffic on Black Stump Road; responded with KPD to a suspicious vehicle and persons complaint, possible weapon involved, on Irvington Road; responded to an E911 disconnect call in the 7,500 block of River Road (child playing on the phone); responded to a domestic disturbance/child custody complaint on Levelgreen Road; responded to a domestic assault on Devils Bottom Road.

Aug. 31 James M. Sellers, 38 of Haynesville, was arrested for felony probation violation on August 28. Staff responded to a noise violation complaint in the area of Windmill Creek Lane; responded with KPD and EMS to a report of an intentional drug overdose on N. Main Street; responded to an assault call on Sullavans Road; responded with EMS and WSVFD to High Bank Road on a report of a person trapped under a dock; responded to a domestic disturbance/trespass complaint in the 1,000 block of Good Luck Road; responded with KPD to an assault call on New South Road; responded to an assault by threat complaint at a Mollusk area convenience store; responded to a noise violation complaint on Washington Street; responded to an animal control complaint on Woods Drive.

Sept. 1 Staff received a larceny report from the 100 block of Windmill Point Road (prescription drug; $50 loss); checked on the well-being of a Keep Safe program participant after prearranged telephone contact could not be made (telephone line problem); notified VDOT of a downed tree interfering with traffic on Corrotoman Drive; attempted to locate a reported reckless driver in the White Stone area.

Sept. 2 No reportable calls for service as of 11 a.m.; report ends.
