Lancaster County Sheriff's Report for the week ending July 28

July 21  (Report begins @ 12 noon)  Staff received a larceny report from the renter of a storage unit in White Stone (DeWalt miter saw, Senco nail gun; $1,000 loss).

July 22  A White Stone woman was arrested for shoot/throw missile into an occupied motor vehicle (felony), and assault and battery, both on April 6.  Staff notified a licensed wildlife rehabilitator of a report of an injured eagle on the Norris Bridge; responded to a larceny complaint in the 11,000 block of River Road (incident involves a juvenile under the age of 12); received a burglary/larceny report from an Oyster House Road resident (Apple IPad, gold Tiffany necklace, gold bangle bracelet, silver money clip with initials NSB, cash, lady’s Concord watch; $8,410 loss); received a larceny report from a visitor at Cedars Beach (Nautica polarized prescription glasses; $484 loss); notified USCG Milford Haven of a disabled boater in the area between Greenvale Creek and Monaskon Farm.

July 23  James T. Kessler, 53 of Cox’s Farm Road, was arrested for aggravated malicious wounding (felony) on July 19 (this charge is unrelated to the case of the missing person Claudine J. Gifford); Tiana M. White, 21 of Fox Hill Drive, was arrested for assault and battery on July 23; Michael A. Crockett, 29 of Chestnut Point Road, was charged with contempt of court on July 22; Betty Walker, 81 of Black Stump Road, was charged with suing abusive language on July 21 in a Gloucester County case.  Staff discovered an open door to an Irvington area business during routine late night business checks (no criminal incident); responded to the Lively area on a motorist’s report of a pedestrian interfering with traffic (elder male located; subject was disoriented); responded to a mental health emergency on Lara Road (subject voluntarily reported for mental health services); responded with KPD to the area of N. Main Street on a report of a possible mental health emergency (subject located; he regularly runs and shadow boxes for exercise; no mental health emergency involved); responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Nuttsville Road; responded with KPD to an assault call on Fox Hill Drive; delivered an emergency contact message to a Morattico Road resident.

July 24  James T. Kessler, 53 of Cox’s Farm Road, was arrested for assault and battery  on July 19 (this charge is unrelated to the case of the missing person Claudine J. Gifford); Susan E. Page, 45 of Caret, was arrested for drunk driving late on July 23.  Staff intercepted a reported reckless driver in the Kilmarnock area; received a wallet that was found by a citizen in the Windmill Point area and was able to return the item to its owner; found an abandoned vehicle at the Upper Lancaster Ruritan Center (no tags on vehicle; unable to make contact with the last registered owner; ULRC leadership will have the vehicle towed at the owner’s expense if not removed  the next morning); notified the power company of a downed tree dragging down the power line in the area of Youcomico Drive; responded to a possible prowler complaint on Light Ship Way.

July 25  Robert Gallicchio, 66 of Chesapeake Drive, was arrested for rape and abduction/kidnapping (both felonies) on Aug. 22, 2012; Kenneth B. Jacskson, 52 of Topping, was arrested on a Gloucester County  charge of contempt of court on June 11; Kyle T. Ullrich, 38 of Heathsville, was arrested for felony failure to appear in court on July 2.  Staff responded to an E911 disconnect call on Old Mill Cove Road (telephone line problem); responded to a shots fired call in the 3,200 block of White Chapel Road; notified VDOT of a downed tree limb interfering with traffic on Beach Road; responded with KPD to a hit and run vehicle complaint on DMV Drive; responded with KPD to a fight call on N. Main Street (verbal only; no assault); responded to a juvenile behavioral/mental health emergency call in the 13,400 block of Mary Ball Road; responded to a trespass complaint in the 3,700 block of Black Stump Road; responded to a trespass complaint on Woods Drive; responded with KPD to a shoplifting complaint at Wal-Mart; responded to a shots fired call in the 3,200 block of White Chapel Road; received a sexual assault report (no further information released in order to protect the victim and due to the nature of the investigation); responded to a noise violation complaint in Lively; responded to a domestic disturbance on Woods Drive.

July 26  A White Stone man was arrested on a Northumberland County charge of contempt of court on April 11.  Staff received a walk-in complaint of child custody; responded to a drunk and disorderly conduct complaint in Irvington; responded to a domestic disturbance on Gunther Lane; responded to a residential burglary on Clark Road (no forced entry found; no property missing; no persons assaulted); responded to an E911 disconnect call on Queenstown Road (telephone line problem); responded with KPD to a single vehicle traffic crash near James Jones Hwy. and  Black Stump Road, followed by a report that the owner driver was in the ditch away from the vehicle (unoccupied vehicle in the ditch; man in the ditch was determined to be a pedestrian who stopped to rest and was not the owner or driver of the vehicle).

July 27  James T. Thomas, 29 of Newport News, was arrested for assault and battery on July 26.  Staff responded to a trespass complaint on Goodluck Road; responded with KDP to the local emergency room to assist medical staff with a combative patient; checked on the well-being of a Shamrock Court resident at the request of a concerned citizen (EMS dispatched); referred a parent with a juvenile behavioral complaint to the juvenile intake officer; responded to an abandoned/disabled vehicle complaint in the 5,600 block of White Chapel Road; responded with KPD to a disturbance call on Dilvers Road; responded to a motorist’s report of debris interfering traffic on the Norris Bridge; received a report of the theft of a DJUI interlock system from a vehicle parked on Mosquito Point Road ($500 loss); responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at a Mollusk area convenience store; responded to a complaint of teenagers trespassing on Ice House Drive (the teens were found to live in one of the apartments; no trespass involved).

July 28  Staff responded to an attempted fraud complaint filed by a Middle Gate resident (complaint involves “delivery of a car” when no such vehicle was purchased);
